Good Spiritual Simon

1.  Do some research and try to come up with a description of what it means to be good person?
A good person means to be good to others as well as being a kind and honest person. A good person doesn’t only do good acts because of honour and satisfaction but just because they like doing it.

2.  How does spirituality lend itself to the pursuit of being a good person?
It helps you find purpose in your life and helps include a way of living. Spirituality helps find the good in someone, helping them be averted person making good choices.

3.  What are saintly qualities?
generous, empathy, patience, kindness, simplicity.

4.  Find three passages from Chapters 1-6 that highlight Simon’s good / spiritual /saintly qualities.  Describe how they illustrate Simon’s character? 

“Found for them the fruit they could not reach, pulled off the choicest from up in the foliage, passed them back down to the endless, outstretched hands.” pg 138. This illustated Simons character because of how caring and helpful he was as he grabbed the fruit for the littleluns that they could not reach.

”You’ll get back to where you came from. . . You’ll get back all right. I think so, anyway.” This illustrates Simons character by showing how compassion he was in comforting the boys that they will be rescued and be back home.

“‘My specs!’ He went crouching and feeling over the rocks but Simon, who got there first, found them for him.” This illustrated Simons character by showing how he was willing to help another person out when nobody else would.

5.  In the following question in a paragraph:  How does the Simon’s behavior and his treatment by the other boys so far sit into the larger allegory of the story this far?

Simons behaviour and his treatment by the other boys sit into the larger allegory of the story so far by how Simon did his best to treat everyone with respect and didn’t get the same treatment back. Simon was always the one to help one another but always got attacked by some of his peers.  The way he treated others wasn’t the same as how others treated him back.
